Wiley is in his third year at
Before
coming to PHS, Coach Wiley was an Assistant Coach at his Alma Mata
Southern Wesleyan University for the year of 2006. While at SWU Coach Wiley helped with the
hitters and infielders as
well as base runner and conditioning.
In
the summer of 2006 Coach Wiley was named to the Coaching staff of the year with
the Morganton Aggies as they went on the win the Southern Collegiate Baseball
League SCBL Regular Season Championship and Tournament Championship. Coach Wiley was the Head Assistant Coach for
this squad and over saw the hitting, base running, and infield play. This team broke many league records with an
SCBL record 35 win to only 8 loses.
Coach Wiley’s potent offense compiled amazing numbers all leading to new
league records: .313 team batting average (wood bat), 17 Home runs, 125 stolen
bases, and a team fielding percentage of .978.
As
a player, Coach Wiley was a standout infielder at PHS and signed to play at The
University of South Carolina at Aiken.
He then transferred to Southern Wesleyan were he flourished as a second
baseman and leadoff man for the warriors.
He was known for his ability to get on base, base running abilities and
his slick fielding abilities.
